Managing Alcohol Cravings

It's very common to feel a strong craving for alcohol when you want to stop drinking. There's nothing wrong with it, and the craving itself is not harmful, but it can be troublesome.

Observe

You can learn to pause and observe the craving instead of being in it.

Waves

The craving can be likened to waves in the sea. It increases for a while and then decreases, and it might come back or disappear. You might give in to the craving before the wave starts to decrease. Cravings rarely last more than 10 minutes.
